At the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , he won the silver medal with the Yugoslav team. Four years earlier at the Games in Sarajevo , he experienced his blackest moments in his life as a jumper, when he could not cope with the pressure of his compatriots' expectations and only took back places at the Olympic jumping and was whistled by the spectators. In the 1987/88 season he was third in the World Cup behind Matti Nykänen and Pavel Ploc and also won the silver medal at the Ski Flying World Championship . He is currently the president of the Nordic skiing association in Slovenia .
