The Primrose was a ferry of the Italian BluNavy , which was put into service in 1975 as Prinsesse Marie-Christine for the Belgian shipping company Cobelfret . It stayed in service until the spring of 2011 and was then scrapped in India .

The Prinsesse Marie-Christine was laid on November 18, 1974 at Cockerill-Sambre in Antwerp and launched on September 8, 1975. The delivery to Cobelfret took place on December 30, 1975. On the same day, the Prinsesse Marie-Christine was put into service on the route from Ostend to Dover .
On October 27, 1976, a fire broke out in the ship's engine room, which was noticed shortly after leaving Dover. The Princess Marie-Christine had to be towed back to the port with the help of tugs, where all passengers could disembark. The fire could be extinguished with the ship's own resources and with water pumped into the engine room.
On August 26, 1985, the ship arrived in Temse , where it was modernized and rebuilt. As a result, the tonnage increased from 5,635 to 12,046 GRT . On January 2, 1986, the Prinsesse Marie-Christine was put back into service.
In October the ship went to the British shipping company Townsend Thoresen and received the company's characteristic orange hull painting. However, this did not change the name or the route. After the shipping company was dissolved, the Princess Marie-Christine went to the successor P&O European Ferries in 1987 .
In 1991 the ship went to the Oostende Lines , which initially used it on its old route and from January 1993 from Ramsgate to Dunkirk . In January 1992, the Princess Marie-Christine was chartered by Sally Line , which she operated until the Oostende Lines went bankrupt in February 1997.
After a year- long layover in Dunkirk, the ship went to the Belgian shipping company Transeuropa Ferries in July 1998 , which started using it from Ostend to Ramsgate under the new name Primrose in April 1999 . In June 2009 the Moroccan ferry company Comarit chartered the Primrose for service from Almería to Al Hoceïma , before returning to Transeuropa Ferries in September 2009.
In April 2010 the Italian shipping company BluNavy became the new owner of the ship registered in Cyprus . In June 2010 it entered service on the route from Piombino to Portoferraio , on which it remained until its decommissioning in March 2011.
On March 7, 2011, the Primrose was sold to India for scrapping and renamed Elegant 1 for the transfer trip . On May 4, 2011 the ship arrived in Alang , where the demolition began on May 15.
