The foliage leaves standing together in a basal rosette are only indistinctly petiolate in a slightly winged petiole . The simple, bare leaf blade is 1 to 6 centimeters long and 0.3 to 1.1 centimeters wide and is obverse -lanceolate to spatulate with a blunt to pointed upper end. The leaf margins are whole or slightly serrated . On the underside of the leaf you can not see any net-like leaf veins .

Inflorescence and flower

The flowering period extends over the summer. The upright, thin, in the upper area at least somewhat floury inflorescence stem is 5 to 20 centimeters high during the flowering period and extends up to 35 centimeters until the fruit is ripe . The cephalic, umbellate inflorescence contains two to nine flowers . The more or less similar bracts are sack-shaped.

The hermaphrodite flowers are radially symmetrical , five-fold with a double flower envelope . The five 4 to 8 millimeters long, green-colored and purple-striped and usually at least slightly floury-dusted sepals are bell-shaped fused. The five lavender, opposite the sepals about twice as long petals have no glands and ausgerandete corolla lobes. The crown throat measures 4 to 7 millimeters in diameter; the coronet 4 to 8 millimeters. In Primula stricta is Homostylie ago.

Fruits and seeds

The ovoid-ellipsoidal capsule fruit is 0.9 to 1.2 times as long as the calyx. The seeds have a net-like structured surface.

Chromosome number

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 126, 88-136.
