Princess Connect! Re: Dive ( プ リ ン セ ス コ ネ ク ト！ Re: Dive Purinsesu Konekuto! Ridaibu ) is an action role-playing game by the Japanese game developer and publisher Cygames , which was released on February 15, 2018 for Android and iOS devices in Japan .
In the meantime, the game has been published in Hong Kong , Taiwan , Macau , the People's Republic of China and South Korea in their respective official languages. The game was implemented as a web manga in 2018 and as an anime television series in 2020 .
Development history and publication
In August 2016, the game was developed by the game developer Cygames as a sequel to Princess Connect! announced. The servers for Princess Connect were discontinued in June 2016. CyberAgent supported Cygames in the development.
The game music was composed by Kōhei Tanaka , who also participated in several games of the Sakura Wars franchise, while Wit Studio , known for Attack on Titan , made the animations. Akira wrote the script. It was announced that all characters from the predecessor Princess Connect! in Princess Connect! Re: Dive will be returning. These are spoken by well-known voice actors ( seiyū ) like Saori Hayami and Kana Hanazawa .
In July 2017, Cygames started the pre-registration phase for the mobile game. However, a planned release was postponed several times in 2017, so Princess Connect! Re: Dive was finally officially released in mid-February 2018.
Gameplay
Princess Connect! Re: Dive is a real-time action RPG . Players can assemble troops consisting of five characters and compete in different modes, such as story mode or against other players . New characters can be unlocked through gacha mechanics or by collecting character fragments, although the latter is not possible for event characters.
Players can also form clans in order to take part in clan battles that correspond to raid battles in other MMORPGs. Players can also chat freely with each other .
Each playable character has a powerful special attack called Union Burst that can be activated manually by the player once their Union Burst meter is fully charged. In addition, each character has two skills that are automatically activated, whereby the time interval varies for each character, an EX skill, which can be improved and activated at the beginning of a fight, and a regular attack, which is carried out automatically. With the exception of Union Burst, players have no control over the activation of any other skills. In PvP mode, battles are fully automated. This means that the Union Burst is activated automatically after the Union Burst Meter has been fully charged.
Characters
The game includes more than 50 characters.
- Pecorine ( ペ コ リ ー ヌ , Pekorīnu )
- Pecorine is the leader of the Gourmet Guild and a person . She has orange hair and blue eyes. Their hallmarks are their insatiable appetite and their enormous strength. Her real name is Eustiana of Astraea ( ユ ー ス テ ィ ア ナ ・ フ ォ ン ・ ア ス ト ラ イ ア Yūsutiana fon Asutoraia ) and is actually a princess .
- Kokkoro ( コ ッ コ ロ )
- Kokoro is a member of the Gourmet Guild and comes from the elves . She has short white hair and pink eyes. She has the habit of addressing her friends with the ending "-sama" (master). Her full name is Kokoro Natsume ( 棗 こ こ ろ Natsume Kokoro ).
- Cal ( キ ャ ル , Kyaru )
- Cal is the third member of the Gourmet Guild and a Kemonomimi from the race of the beast people. Her character can be described as Tsundere . Cal has a sharp tongue. She is always tough, but has a gentle heart. Because she was barely noticed by her parents, she often feels lonely. She started out as a spy hired to murder Pecorine. But she befriends her later. Cal has the powers of a Princess Knight that helps her control monsters. Her real name is Kiruya Momochi ( 百 地 希 留 耶 Momochi Kiruya ).
- Yui ( ユ イ )
- Yui is a member of the Twinkle Wish guild after being saved from a gang of cheaters by Rei . Her desire is to get stronger, which is why she posted a notice on the guild's order wall, where she is looking for like-minded people for a guild.
- Rei ( レ イ )
- Rei is a member of the Twinkle Wish Guild and comes from a race of devils . She was previously a strong lone fighter. She saved Yui from a group of scammers who tried to rip her off.
- Hiyori ( ヒ ヨ リ )
- Hiyori is a member of the Twinkle Wish guild and comes from the race of the beast people. After she, Rei, and Yui were able to put a gang of scammers to flight, she suggested starting a guild. Hiyori is always in a good mood and usually acts without thinking.
- Shizuru ( シ ズ ル )

- Rino is a member of the Labyrinth Guild and like Shizuku, a human. She has shoulder length orange hair and green eyes. Your weapon is a red bow .

Web manga
An implementation as a web manga was written by the mangaka Asahiro Kakashi and illustrated by wEshica / Shōgo. The manga implementation first appeared on the Manga app Cycomics and was later published in print by Kodansha . Two volumes in Tankōbon format had been published by February 2019 .
Anime television series
On February 15, 2019, it was announced that it would be converted into an anime television series. The series is created in the animation studio CygamesPictures , which belongs to Cygames , and is directed by Takaomi Kanasaki , who has already written series such as KonoSuba and Is this a Zombie? produced. The first episode was shown on Japanese television on April 6, 2020.
In other media
Multiple characters from Princess Connect! Re: Dive were featured in a crossover event in the game Granblue Fantasy , which ran from December 9-21 , 2018. Kokkoro and Pecorine are now playable characters in Granblue Fantasy while Kyuaru was initially seen as a non-player character in the event story. The event was repeated in 2019, which enabled Kyaru to be unlocked as a playable character.
