Przyrzecze (Brzeżno)

Przyrzecze (German name: Wartenstein ) is a village with 94 inhabitants (as of 2005) in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) in the Świdwin County .

Geographical location

Przyrzecze is ten kilometers southeast of Świdwin and can be reached on a side road to Gawroniec ( Gersdorf ) in the junction before Bierzwnica ( Reinfeld ) (three kilometers). Przyrzecze is a long drawn-out farming village, the western border of which is here the Rega , which was the border river between the Schivelbein and Belgard districts until 1932.

Local history

Wartenstein with its Vorwerk Langenhaken (today Polish: Grądzkie ) once belonged to the Order of St. John Commandery Schivelbein . In 1807 Canonicus von Briesen on Klützkow ( Kluczkowo ) in Wartenstein was assessed with 1½ hooves for contribution.

Until the district reform in 1932, the place belonged to the Schivelbein district, until it was integrated into the Belgard (Persante) district .

In 1939 there were 223 people in 64 households in Wartenstein. The parish area was 495.5 hectares. Most of the inhabitants lived from agriculture and forestry.

Until 1945, Wartenstein belonged to the district of Langenhaken. The competent district court was that in Schivelbein.

At the beginning of March 1945 the place was occupied by Russian troops. The local population was displaced . Today Przyrzecze is part of the Gmina Świdwin in the Powiat Świdwiński.

Wartenstein did not have its own church, but belonged to the Reinfeld parish until 1945 . It was in the church district Schivelbein the ecclesiastical province of Pomerania of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Przyrzecze is part of the parish Koszalin ( Köslin ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
