Juan de Dios Mataflorida Pueblos (born March 8, 1943 in Moto Sur, Loon , Philippines ; † October 21, 2017 ) was a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Butuan .

Life

Juan de Dios Pueblos Mataflorida studied philosophy at the seminary in Loon (1953-1958) and theology at the Seminary in Tagbilaran (1958-1960) and received on 30 March 1968, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He worked in pastoral care and completed another theology degree at Divine World College in Tagbilaran. He was involved in school education and was, among other things, rector of various seminars and academies.

On 29 April 1985 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Zaba and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Davao . The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Bruno Torpigliani , donated him episcopal ordination on June 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Davao, Antonio Lloren Mabutas , and the Bishop of Tagbilaran , Onesimo Cadiz Gordoncillo . On February 3, 1987, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Coroico. He was appointed Bishop of Butuan on November 27, 1995. Juan de Dios Pueblos held several offices in the Philippine Bishops' Conference.
