content

Andrew Nivens and his son Sam are supposed to be looking for an alleged UFO with some employees in the city of Ambrose. When they attack a resident of the city, they have to shoot him and then discover a parasite on his back. This seems to have taken control of the body. It is an alien life form which, to the horror of Professor Niven and his entourage, has already multiplied. The entire city seems to fall into the hands of the invaders, turning all residents into puppets.

Your goal is world domination.

criticism

Prism online : Robert A. Heinlein's ("Starship Troopers") novel, written in 1951, is the prototype of all paranoid invasion stories. Director Stuart Orme ("Die Bildhauerin") created an excitingly staged utopian horror film without unnecessary disgust, but with well-calculated moments of shock, with which the director also plays a little. Film composer Colin Towns caused a sensation among jazz fans with his big band "Mask Orchestra".

Lexicon of international film : Pure effect cinema that does not come close to the numerous genre models and also stirs up xenophobia through the unreflective adaptation of the template.

Awards

The film was nominated in 1995 for the Saturn Award in the category of best science fiction film , but could not win the award.
