Central Dahshur pyramid
The pyramid of Central Dahshur is the largely destroyed pyramid of an unknown king who presumably ruled in the 12th or 13th dynasty . It is located a little southeast of the pyramid of Amenemhet II in the necropolis of Dahshur .
exploration
The structure has been completely demolished, a comprehensive investigation has never taken place and the construction of a pipeline in 1975 caused further destruction. In the 19th century, Karl Richard Lepsius described the building as a stone pyramid and assigned it the serial number LIV of his list of pyramids .
The investigation of the site revealed fragments of limestone reliefs . One of the pieces found was named Amenemhet and could have come from the neighboring Amenemhet II pyramid . The name could thus refer to Amenemhet II , but a reference to Amenemhet IV as a possible builder would also be conceivable.
Since the pyramid district was clearly provided with an access road , it could be a formerly completed building, but this is no longer verifiable due to the severe degree of destruction.
