Quinnipiac University
The Quinnipiac University is a private university in Hamden in the US state of Connecticut . Around 7700 students are currently studying here.
The college was founded in 1929 by Samuel W. Tator, a businessman and politician. His wife and Phillip Troup, a Yale student, were also instrumental in founding the university. He was the university's first president until his death in 1939. During the Second World War the university was closed and then reopened. 1951 was named the University of Quinnipiac College to this in honor of the Quinnipiac - Indians . Within a few years the university was expanded, a private women's college was set up, and more physics rooms were built. In 1996 the campus moved to Hamden, right at the foot of the "Sleeping Giant". In the 1970s, the master’s degree was introduced at the university. Until the 1990s, the university had a regionally limited reputation. Soon, thanks to the American Bar Association, the Juris Doctor grade was admitted to the university and the university attracted attention with business programs and journalism . On July 1, 2000, the name of the university was changed to Quinnipiac University, whose name it still bears today.
The university is particularly well-known for the Quinnipiac University Poll , thanks to which the survey results for the upcoming US elections are published at low cost. Daily newspapers such as The Washington Post and The New York Times reported on this achievement and received mostly positive reviews for the university.

The sports teams at Quinnipiac University are the Bobcats . The college is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference , with the exception of the hockey teams that play in ECAC hockey .
