Rómulo Emiliani Sánchez

Rómulo Emiliani Sánchez CMF (born May 3, 1948 in Colón ) is a Panamanian Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in San Pedro Sula .

Life

Rómulo Emiliani Sánchez joined the order of the Claretians , made his profession on October 23, 1969 and was ordained a priest on August 8, 1976 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on December 15, 1988 Vicar Apostolic of Darién and Titular Bishop of Nigrae Maiores . The Apostolic Nuncio in Panama , Archbishop José Sebastián Laboa Gallego , donated him episcopal ordination on January 25 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Marcos Gregorio McGrath CSC , Archbishop of Panama , and Román Arrieta Villalobos , Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica .

On February 2, 2002, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in San Pedro Sula , Honduras .

Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on March 21, 2017.
