Röbbeck is a district of Velbert and is mainly developed as an industrial area .
geography
The Röbbeck (like the stream of the same name, the district is usually called in its female form) is located on the eastern edge of the urban area of Velbert-Mitte on the Velberter Höhenrück , from which it drops relatively steeply to the north to the Hesperbach and the Röbbeck (Hesperbach) .
Neighboring districts
It is bordered by the Velbert-Ost / An der Lantert district in the south-west, the Nordpark in the east , the Hefel in the north and the sparsely populated suburb of Rottberg in the north and east .
history
The name Röbbeck refers to an old homestead on the edge of the industrial area . Since the 1970s, starting from the older industrial areas of Industriestraße and Röttgen, the former farmers of Rottberg began building large arable land , which ended in 2000. A planned expansion to the east to Rottberger Straße failed in 2000 due to the difficult topography.
Since the area is partially designated as an industrial area, there are only a few inhabitants. Some older Kotten and the hamlet of Bleiberg were enclosed by the commercial development.
Infrastructure
The industrial park is located north of Langenberger Straße / L 427 and is connected to the federal motorway 535 and via Rottberger Straße / K23 to the A44 . A better connection to the city took place in the 1990s through the direct connection via Siemensstraße to Bahnhofstraße, in which the valley of the Hesperbach was filled. Two lines of the Velbert local bus , the OV7 and the OV8, run through Röbbeck, connecting the district to the city center and to the districts of Langenberg and Kidneyhof .
