history

The place is recorded on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715 under the name 'Ratenberg'. On the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as well as on the Prussian first survey from 1843, the place is labeled 'Radenberg'.

From the 1930s, a pit (probably limestone) was opened between Radenberg with the pond and the railway line to the west and south-west, which was later used as a landfill (" Radenberg landfill ").

Until 1974, the area around the church height belonged to Wülfrath , district Unterdüssel . The street with the name Radenberg was named on July 7, 1993, it leads from Kirchenfelder Weg to the north. It gives access to a primary school built in 1972.

From 1998 to 2006 there was a development plan with 25 to 30 single-family houses on the heap, by the investor Uwe Clees, who is also the owner of this area. These plans were not approved due to the problem of transport links. In 2009 this landfill was in operating condition: “temporarily a. B. "

The Radenberg farm, to which the pond belongs, has fallen into disrepair (status 2004). The dump was cleared in 2012 on behalf of Clees.
