RMS Radio Marketing Service operates as an audio marketer in Germany and Austria. The company oversees the national marketing of advertising times and audio offers from 169 private radio stations in Germany as well as over 1400 online audio streams. In 2016 RMS had a 66% share of the German radio advertising market, which totaled € 1.83 billion.

In addition, the company is active in advertising research through the Audioeffekt initiative run jointly with AS&S Radio , and is a member of various industry associations (including agma , BVDW , IVW , Radiozentrale , VPRT , ZAW ). In addition to its Hamburg headquarters, RMS operates locations in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich, Stuttgart and Wiesbaden. Together with RMS Austria , RMS is the largest audio marketer in Europe.

history

Private radio stations established themselves in Germany at the beginning of the 1980s. With the growing range of radio stations in Germany, corresponding marketing companies were created. As radio advertising sales RMS was founded in 1989 by the three private radio stations Radio Hamburg , Radio FFN and R.SH founded.

With the nationwide start of private radio stations in Austria, RMS Hamburg founded RMS GmbH Austria as a subsidiary in March 1998 .

In the course of digitization, the RMS marketing portfolio has also expanded to include online audio. In addition to live streams from FM stations, the online audio portfolio now also includes online-only stations , aggregators such as radio.de and personal and user-generated radios.

Advertising and market research

One of the main areas of interest of RMS is advertising and market research. In this context, RMS works on advertising effectiveness research with the institutes GfK , Nielsen and IMAS and also uses market research tools and methods developed in-house to accompany the campaign. The aim is to prove the efficiency of the advertising expenditure used. The advertising impact indicators include brand awareness and advertising recall as well as the specific effects on sales figures. Together with the radio marketer AS&S Radio, RMS bundled research into advertising effectiveness in June 2013 under the joint Audioeffekt initiative. In addition to ARD Werbung SALES & SERVICES and ZDF Werbefernsehen, RMS is one of the three clients of the market media study for the electronic media VuMA Touchpoints.

Media & Campaign Management

Media & Campaign Management supports planners in agencies and companies in media strategy and planning. This is done through analysis, modernization and optimization of the planning and booking processes. The Media Management department takes on the operational media planning and consulting as well as the further development of currency and tools. The Campaign Management department is responsible for securing customers and publishers. She is in charge of order management and the processing of classic and digital bookings.

Together with AS&S Radio , RMS is the operator of the radio planning platform RadioXpert, which allows nationwide and regional planning of audio advertising via a graphical user interface.

Conception & advice

The conception & consulting department takes care of the design of special forms of advertising and promotions.

Digital media

The Digital Media division at RMS is responsible for the ad server-based marketing of advertising on behalf of national and international publishers.

RMS currently bundles over 1400 online audio streams, which, according to ma IP Audio, represent over 100 million sessions and 26.3 million unique listeners per month.

Generic Marketing

Radio Marketing Service works together with radio stations, radio marketers and the Radiozentrale interest group to advertise radio and audio to the public, advertisers and their agencies.

In the course of this genre work, the Radiozentrale u. a. the Radio Advertising Summit and awards the Radio Advertising Award.
