Radio Pridnestrovye

Radio Pridnestrowje (also Radio Pridnestrovja , full name Radio Pridnestrovskoi Moldawskoi Respubliki , abbreviated Radio PMR , formerly Radio Dniester International ) is the state radio broadcaster of the internationally not recognized Transnistrian Moldavian Republic , which has split off from the Republic of Moldova .

Radio PMR in Tiraspol

Radio Pridnestrovie has been broadcasting in Russian , Moldavian (Romanian) and Ukrainian for the Transnistria region since August 1991 . It also operates a foreign broadcaster that broadcasts programs in English , French and German via shortwave . The German-language broadcasts began in March 1993 under the name Radio Dniester International , but were discontinued after a few years. Since 2003, German-language programs have been broadcast under the new name of Radio Pridnestrowje .

The transmitter is based in Tiraspol , the medium and short wave transmission systems of Radio Pridnestrowje are in Maiac (near Grigoriopol ) directly on the Ukrainian border. For shortwave broadcasts, five transmitters with an output of 1000 kW each are available, most of which are used by other international services.

The broadcast is currently (as of April 2012) on VHF, medium wave and short wave.

• VHF on 100.7 MHz: in Russian , Ukrainian and Moldovan languages
• Medium wave on 999 kHz: in Russian for listeners in the Russian Federation , Belarus and the Baltic States
• Shortwave on 7290 kHz: in English, German and French

In addition, other VHF and shortwave frequencies are used for domestic broadcasting, including in the OIRT band (in Slobozia on 74.0 MHz):

• Tiraspol : 100.7 MHz and 104.0 MHz
• Slobodseja (Slobozia): 100.7 MHz and 74.0 MHz
• Pervomaisk ( Pervomaisc ): 103.4 MHz
• Grigoriopol : 105.0 MHz
• Mayak (Maiac): 105.0 MHz and 106.5 MHz
• Voronkowo (Vărăncău): 106.0 MHz
• Katerinowka (Caterinovca): 104.0 MHz
• Walja Adinke (Valea Adinca): 100.1 MHz
• Kamenka (Camenca): 106.4 MHz

In addition, the medium wave frequency 999 kHz and the short wave frequency 9665 kHz are used for broadcasting the domestic program.
