Rafael Valdéz Torres (born November 4, 1959 in Santiago Tangamandapio near Zamora de Hidalgo , Mexico ) is Bishop of Ensenada .

Life

Rafael Valdéz Torres studied from 1971 at the seminary in Zamora and received on 9 February 1985, the priestly ordination . He then obtained a licentiate in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University . He taught philosophy at the Diocesan Seminary of Zamora and in 2004 became pastor and rector of the Shrine of the Lord of Miracles ( Señor de los Milagros ) in Nuevo San Juan . Valdéz Torres has been treasurer of Mutual Sacerdotal since 2008 .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Ensenada on May 21, 2013. He was ordained bishop on July 31 of the same year by Christophe Pierre, the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico . Co- consecrators were Rafael Romo Muñoz , Archbishop of Tijuana and the Bishops José Isidro Guerrero Macías ( Mexicali ) and Javier Navarro Rodríguez ( Zamora ).
