Raffaello Caserta (born August 15, 1972 in Naples ) is a former Italian saber fencer .

successes

Raffaello Caserta became world champion with the team in The Hague in 1995 , after having achieved second place with her in 1993 in Essen . In 1998 he was runner -up in the individual world championship in La Chaux-de-Fonds . In 1992 in Lisbon and 1995 in Keszthely , Caserta was also European champion in individual , in 1994 he finished second in Krakow . In 1998 he became vice European champion with the team in Plovdiv , and the following year he won team bronze. He took part in the Olympic Games twice: in 1996 , after beating Germany in Atlanta, he and the team reached the semi-finals in which the Italian team lost to Russia . In the battle for third place, Caserta together with Tonhi Terenzi and Luigi Tarantino prevailed against Poland with 45:37 and thus won the bronze medal. In the individual he reached 19th place. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , he finished the individual competition again in 19th place, while he finished eighth with the team.
