Ragunda is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Jämtlands län and the historic province of Jämtland . The main town of the municipality is Hammarstrand .
The municipality forms a municipal association with the municipality of Bräcke , the aim of which is to reduce costs and maintain municipal services.

At Ragunda the Ammerån flows into the Indalsälven .
history
Historically, today's municipality under the name Ravund was a part of Jämtland for a long time. The municipality was created on January 1, 1974 by merging the municipalities of Fors, Ragunda and Stugun.
economy
The largest employer is the municipality of Ragunda with a share of 32.7% of the total number of employees.
Attractions
Near the village of Utanede is what is probably the northernmost example of Thai architecture , a pavilion in honor of King Chulalongkorn of Siam (Rama V) . According to legend, the king visited the place in 1897 after a sailor from Ångermanland saved the life of a Siamese princess.
The former waterfall " Döda falls " was created when Magnus Huss diverted the Indalsälven river .
