Raimerhei ( Raimer Hei , Raimerhai , Rainerhai ) is an East Timorese place and Suco in the Ermera administrative office ( Ermera municipality ).

The place Raimerhei is located in the northeast of the Sucos, at an altitude of 1393  m . Here is the primary school of sucos, the Escola Primaria No. 201 Raimerhei .

2244 inhabitants live in Raimerhei (2015), of which 1081 are men and 1163 women. The population density is 291.3 inhabitants / km². There are 377 households in the Suco. Almost 75% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Almost 24% speak Mambai , while small minorities speak Habun or Tetum Terik .

Before the 2015 regional reform, Raimerhei had an area of ​​8.10 km². Now it is 7.70 km². The Suco is located in the south of the administrative office of Ermera. To the north is the Suco Estado . In the southeast Raimerhei borders on the administrative office Letefoho with its Sucos Haupu and Hatugau and in the southwest on the administrative office Hatulia with its Suco Coilate-Letelo . The border with Hatulia is formed by the Meipu River. It flows into the Caraulun , which follows the border with Letefoho, a tributary of the Lóis .

There are no major roads in the Suco. Most places are close to the Caraulun. From north to south these are Namto , Raimerhei , Pugarema and Leborema . In the extreme northwest of Raimerhei is the village of Aiceo ( Aiceu ).

In the Suco there are the six Aldeias Lohmo , Mate Resto , Moris Foun , Nazare , Raimaran and Timlele Buras .

history

Many Sucos residents died between 1975 and 1980 due to the Indonesian occupation. When the Indonesian army reached Raimerhei in March 1976, 27 families from Aiceo fled to the mountains. 230 relatives were killed by 1980. There were 11 deaths in 1975, 51 deaths in 1976, 74 deaths in 1977, 54 deaths in 1978, 30 deaths in 1979 and 10 deaths in 1980. Three people died from bombings, 14 died from their injuries, 15 disappeared, four died of exhaustion, 181 of illness and starvation, one person was shot dead by the Indonesian army. Twelve victims could not be buried.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Napolião Soares Maia was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Afonso Soares Lemos won .
