Rainer Trölitzsch (actually Reinhard Trölitzsch , born July 31, 1939 in Rositz ; † July 31, 2004 ) was a German soccer player and later soccer coach . In the top division of GDR football , the Oberliga , he played for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig and its forerunners as well as for FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . Trölitzsch was a three-time junior national player and played ten games with the B-national soccer team of the GDR .

Athletic career

Soccer player

Trölitzsch began to play football in a community at his home BSG Chemie Rositz. In 1955 he moved to BSG Motor Altenburg , where he made his debut during the so-called transition round in the second-class first division in national GDR football . In 1957 he went to SC Rotation Leipzig , for which he ran up once in the league that season. In the 1958 season he played 19 of 26 games in the Leipzig league team. In 1959, his international career began with an assignment in the GDR youth team . After a total of three youth international games, Trölitzsch was a regular player in the B national team as a striker in 1960 and 1961, with whom he played six international games during this period. By 1962 he played 13 times with the Leipzig city selection in the Messestädte Cup , in which he scored four goals.

In 1963 Trölitzsch belonged to the Leipzig players' group, which was assigned to the newly founded SC Leipzig as the city's new football focus. In the very first season with the SCL 1963/64 he achieved the best championship result of his career so far with 3rd place and was also used in the final of the SCL for the GDR soccer cup . However, the game was lost with Trölitzsch as the half-right striker 2-3 against SC Aufbau Magdeburg. Until 1966 Trölitzsch was part of the regular squad in Leipzig, which at the beginning of this year had been restructured after being spun off from the sports club to form 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig . In the 1966/67 season he was only used in 14 league point games. He played his last league game for Lok Leipzig on the last day of the season in the encounter between Wismut Gera and 1. FC Lok (2: 1). Despite the defeat, Lok became runner-up, and Trölitzsch achieved his best league ranking of his entire career. After 200 league games with 76 goals and - in addition to his appearances for the city selection - eight European Cup games with two goals Trölitzsch left 1. FC Lok Leipzig in 1967.

In the summer of 1967 Trölitzsch moved to the league rivals FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt at the age of 28. There he played in midfield and immediately became a regular player in his first season with 25 first division appearances. Despite his new role, he was Erfurt's second top scorer with nine goals behind Gerd Stieler (11). In 1968/69 he scored only eight league goals, but was Erfurt's top scorer. With 25 point games, he was again one of the most reliable players. After Trölitzsch had played 16 league point games in the 1969/70 season, he suffered a serious injury on matchday 19, April 15, 1970 in the encounter between Dynamo Dresden and FC Rot-Weiß, which ended his career as an active football player. During his time in Erfurt, Trölitzsch had made 66 league games and scored 18 goals. In the overall balance he comes to 266 missions in the GDR league with 94 goals. As an Erfurt player, he played an international match with the B national team in 1967, so that he came here to a total of ten missions.

Trainer

In 1971 Trölitzsch began distance learning at the Leipzig Sport University DHfK to train as a trainer. First he worked in the youth division of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt, in 1973 he took over the training of the district league club BSG Landbau Bad Langensalza . With this team he rose twice in the second-rate GDR league . His main job was the trained heating fitter in Bad Langensalza as a safety inspector at the local farm. In 1986 Trölitzsch became a trainer for the district class team of Union Mühlhausen . There he rose first in 1987 in the district league and in 1989 in the GDR league.
