Ramon Sessions (born April 11, 1986 in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina ) is a retired American basketball player who was active in the NBA from 2007 to 2017 . The 1.91 meter long sessions were mostly used in the point guard position.

Career

Sessions played for the Nevada Wolf Pack at the University of Nevada, Reno . There he was able to achieve 9 points in 31.1 minutes per game in his freshman season, and 12.3 in his junior season. After that season, he decided to skip his senior year and participate directly in the 2007 NBA Draft . He had some good games in college , scoring 21 against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs , for example .

NBA

Sessions was selected 56th in the draft by the Milwaukee Bucks . There he was able to contribute a solid 8.1 points in around 27 minutes per game in his first season in the NBA and quickly became an important part of his team. He was able to increase this performance again in his sophomore season by scoring 12.4 points per game.

For the next season he moved to the Minnesota Timberwolves , where he was allowed to play around 6 minutes less per game and his performance declined a bit.

After this season he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers and played there his best season so far; he scored over 13 points and 5.2 assists per game. His performances remained similarly strong the next season.

During the 2011/12 NBA season , sessions were traded to the Los Angeles Lakers , where he was named to the starting five and played over 30 minutes per game.

In July 2012, Sessions signed a two-year contract with the Charlotte Bobcats , with whom he played until February 2014. Shortly before the end of the transfer deadline, he was transferred from the Bobcats to the Milwaukee Bucks. In return, among other things, Guard Gary Neal moved to Charlotte.

After his contract expired, Sessions left Milwaukee in the summer of 2014 and joined the Sacramento Kings . There he received a contract until 2016.

After a brief stint at the Washington Wizards , he returned to the Charlotte team, which has now been renamed " Hornets" , in the summer of 2016 . For the 2017/18 season , Sessions switched to the New York Knicks and signed a one-year contract there. In January 2018, Sessions' contract was terminated and he re-signed with the Washington Wizards for the rest of the season.

In November 2018, Sessions was active for Maccabi Tel Aviv from the Israeli Ligat ha'Al for a short time , but his contract was terminated after only 17 days. Tel Aviv was also his last stop as a professional basketball player.
