Raphael Preuschl

Raphael Preuschl (born May 14, 1977 in Vienna ) is an Austrian jazz musician ( double bass , electric bass , also bass ukulele , composition ).

Act

Preuschl studied electric bass until 1998 and double bass at the Vienna Conservatory until 2003 ; he completed both courses with distinction. He initially belonged to Paul Urbanek's Next Generation of Sound , but also accompanied Flip Philipp and Dorretta Carter . Between 2005 and 2011 he was a member of the collective JazzWerkstatt Wien and in the trio of Peter Rom ; he also played with Simone Kopmajer , Frédérique Leno, Alegre Corrêa , Wolfgang Reisinger , Primus Sitter and Uli Soyka . Since 2012 he has been part of the trio ofDavid Helbock , with whom the album Into the Mystic ( Act 2016) was created. He was also a member of the Elfi Aichinger Quartet feat. Don Byron , on No Home for Johnny and Fat (with Alex Machacek and Herbert Pirker , album of the same name 2012). He also worked with Wolfgang Puschnig ( Homegrown Seeds 2012), Nguyên Lê , Michael Schiefel , Georg Vogels Flower , Max Nagl ( Live At Porgy & Bess Vienna Vol.2 ) Christian Wegscheider and Mozart's Nightmare (album of the same name 2014). Furthermore, in a quartet with Clemens Salesny , Woody Schabata and Herbert Joos , the album Jekyll & Hyde was created in 2017 after a live album that was released by the Wiener Jazzwerkstatt in 2012 .
