Rassul Magomedowitsch Jukayev

Rassul Magomedowitsch Dschukajew ( Russian Расул Магомедович Джукаев ; born August 11, 1984 ) is a Russian wrestler . In 2009 he was runner- up in the free style lightweight world champion .

Career

Rasul Dschukayev, of Chechen descent, started wrestling as a teenager in 1994. He concentrated on the free style. He belongs to a sports club in Grozny and has been coached by his father Magomed since the beginning of his career. He is an economics student.

In 2001 he was in Izmir Junior European Champion (Cadets) in the weight class up to 63 kg. After that, he was only seen on an international wrestling mat again in 2007, when he came second in the lightweight at the Dan Kolow & Nikoa Petrow Memorial in Sofia behind Leonid Spiridonov from Kazakhstan . In 2008 he won the most important Russian wrestling tournament, the Ivan Yarigin Memorial in Krasnoyarsk, in the lightweight ahead of his compatriots Shamil Batirow and Saur Botajew. He was then used at the 2008 European Championships in Tampere . He won there over Ljulzim Vrenezi, Macedonia , then lost to Ramazan Şahin , Turkey and then won a bronze medal with victories over Juri Poljak, Israel and Serafim Barzakow , Bulgaria . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , not he, but the Russian champion of 2008 Irbek Farniev was used.

In 2009 Rasul Dschukajew was then ahead of Arsen Mairow, Amir Berukow and Adam Batirow Russian lightweight champion. The reward for this was his commitment to the 2009 World Cup in Herning / Denmark . He won there over Jung Jung-ho, South Korea , Adam Sobieraj , Poland , Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu , Japan and Sushil Kumar , India and was in the final battle against Mehdi Taghavi Kermani from Iran . He lost this fight just on points and became vice world champion.

After that he had a lot of bad luck with injuries, which severely impaired his further wrestling career. In 2011 he won a bronze medal at the Russian lightweight championship again behind the brothers Adam and Mawlet Batirow . He is currently no longer a member of the Russian national team.
