The vehicles RSN No. 1 to 5 were locomotives with the wheel arrangement C1 'of the Rathenow-Senzke-Nauen (RSN), which were classified by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the class 99.451 .
In 1899 three locomotives were ordered by the RSN from Krauss (No. 1–3), in 1901 when the line was extended to Nauen, and two more from Orenstein & Koppel (O&K) that had different dimensions (No. 4–5).
They were used on the routes between Rathenow and Nauen and between Senzke and Paulinenaue, which opened on April 1, 1900 .
In 1949, the Reichsbahn took over another locomotive from each series.
RSN No. 1 to 3
The locomotives with the no. 1-3 had an inner frame in which the three coupling axles were stored. To accommodate the running axle, the frame under the driver's cab was widened to form an outer frame; the axle ran with the third coupling axle in a Krauss-Helmholtz steering frame . The steam and sand domes were on the boiler . They had a Heusinger control, the drive was on the second axis.
No. 3 was given the number 99 4511 when it was taken over by the DR. In 1961, this went to the Rügensche Kleinbahn . In 1965 the locomotive was "reconstructed" in the RAW Görlitz. An almost new locomotive came out with a new frame, axles, boiler and driver's cab, which was now without running axles. It was largely similar to the reconstructed 99 4701 . In 1965 it came back to Putbus, where it was no longer used, a year later to the former Prignitzer Kreiskleinbahnen . It was retired on November 5, 1976. In 1977 it became a memorial in the "Holiday Park" in Haßloch in the Palatinate, and since 1998 it has belonged to the IG Preßnitztalbahn in Jöhstadt.
The machine was nicknamed Pusteline because of its noticeable driving noises . On the Pressnitz Valley Railway it is also called "Meppel".
RSN No. 4 and 5
The locomotives with numbers 4 and 5 had an outer frame. The trailing axle ran in a Bissel frame . The locomotives had a handlebar control , a patent from Arthur Koppel (O&K patent control), they caused irregular exhaust blows due to poor regulation options. That is why the number 5 was known as Röchelanna or as Jumping Deer , which was due to their driving behavior.
The O&K locomotive with the number 5 was given the number 99 4512, it was retired in 1964.
