Ray Vega

Raymond "Ray" Vega (born April 3, 1961 in New York City ) is an American jazz trumpeter (also flugelhorn , Güira , percussion ).

Vega, who grew up in the South Bronx, saw a concert by Machito and his orchestra in New York's Central Park when he was twelve , which prompted him to play the saxophone. Since this instrument was not available in the music program, he had to switch to the trumpet. Shortly afterwards he had lessons with Jerry Gonzales .
