Reality Queens on Safari is a German reality show that was broadcast on ProSieben in August and September 2013 . The format is based on the Dutch television show Echte Meisjes in de Jungle ( Reality Queens in the Jungle or Reality Queens of the Jungle ) by Eyeworks , which first ran in 2011 on RTL 5 in the Netherlands. Real Meisjes has made it to 3 seasons with 28 episodes in the Netherlands so far. The reality show Wild Girls - Auf High Heels durch Afrika , which was broadcast on RTL from July 10, 2013 to August 21, 2013, was produced according to a similar concept .
concept
After arriving in the Tanzanian steppe, the twelve candidates will be divided into the two teams “ Bunga Babes” and “Matiti Girls” ( Matiti kisuahelisch breast ). The teams compete against each other in competitions, the winning of the first competition of each episode decides which group is in the "luxury camp" and which in the "basic camp". One participant has to leave the teams for each episode. In the final, one actress per team will fight for the overall victory and 100,000 euros.
procedure
In May 2013 it was announced that ProSieben had secured the license for the format and that the show would be producing on Kilimanjaro under the working title “Reality Queens” . The first season aired from August 22, 2013. Due to unsatisfactory audience ratings, ProSieben announced on September 2nd that the final would be pushed forward by two weeks. The show ended on September 5, 2013 with the third episode, in which Julia Fljat and Nancy Senga competed against each other in a scavenger hunt with tasks that led from Bagamoyo to Dar es Salaam . Fljat won the title “Reality Queen” and 70,000 euros, the sum of challenges won but reduced due to the voluntary withdrawal of participants.

- Arno Frank from Spiegel Online writes in his television review that in the " Trash Show" "D-celebrities show their ignorance, their breasts - and their disgust for life in the African bush".
- Daniel Call from the Berliner Kurier attests that the protagonists' statements have a "cultivated racism " and criticizes the fact that the program becomes a "very bad performance that is on the verge of incitement ".
- Pia Mester from the WAZ notes that the C-celebrity participants were so unknown that they had to introduce themselves first and remarked that Africa "has suffered enough. Civil wars, AIDS, famines - and now twelve would-be would-be - Celebrity ladies from Germany "would have to endure.
- Jennifer Geiger from Meedia complained that the participants were the "rest of Resterampe", "C and double D celebrities" and not much more than "annoying screeching, hopping, wiggling buttocks and howling" of the protagonists.
- Ingo Rentz from Horizont.net says that ProSieben has succeeded in "taking TV trash to extremes" with the show.
- On August 29, 2013, several development-policy non-governmental organizations called on ProSieben to stop the program, as the image of Tanzania and its inhabitants produced in the program was simple, insulting and inhumane. ProSieben rejected the allegations.
