Red Canzian
Red Canzian (* the thirtieth November 1951 in Quinto di Treviso as Bruno Canzian ) is an Italian musician who primarily as a long-time bassist of the band Pooh became known.
Career
Canzian started playing guitar as a teenager . With his first progressive rock band Capsicum Red (initially Prototipi ) he soon had regular appearances in Treviso . The band enjoyed great popularity among young people and recorded two singles in 1970 and 1971: Ocean was used as the theme song for a television program on Rai 2 , while Tarzan was able to win Franco Battiato . Her first album was Appunti per un'idea fissa . Soon after, the band broke up and Canzian began performing with the trio Osage Tribe . In November 1972 he applied for the vacant position of bassist for Pooh ( Riccardo Fogli had just left the band) and was accepted.
With Pooh, Canzian released a number of very successful albums and singles and went on to perform an intensive concert career. In 1986 his first solo album Io e Red was released , which also included a duet with Loredana Bertè . In later years he also worked as a music producer , for example for Gianni Togni . In 2011 he organized the Red & Friends benefit concert in Padua for those who suffered from the floods in Veneto; at the concert were u. a. Mario Biondi , Gigi D'Alessio , Ivana Spagna , Niccolò Fabi , Malika Ayane , Sonohra and L'Aura involved. With L'istinto e le stelle , Canzian presented his second solo album in 2014, in which Ivano Fossati and Giuliano Sangiorgi were involved.
After Pooh broke up in 2016 for the 50th anniversary after a final tour, Canzian signed a new record deal with BMG . At the Sanremo Festival 2018 he entered the race solo for the first time.
