Redan is a census-designated place (CDP) in DeKalb County in the US state of Georgia with 33,015 inhabitants (as of 2010).

The CDP is located around 10 km east of Decatur and around 15 km east of Atlanta and is affected by US Highway 278 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 33,015 inhabitants were distributed over 11,957 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.75 people per household. There are a total of 13,460 households.

68.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 3.32 people. There were children under the age of 18 in 43.2% of all households and persons aged at least 65 in 12.2% of all households.

31.7% of the population were younger than 20 years, 27.7% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 9.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 33 years. 45.1% of the population were male and 54.9% were female.
