history

Chapel of St. Agatha

Reischach was first mentioned in 1191 with the appearance of Ulrich von Reischach. The place was originally in the area of Goldineshuntare , then in Gau Ratoldesbuch and later in the county of Sigmaringen . At the beginning of the 13th century, Salem Monastery had ownership or rights in the place . In the 13th century, the village was owned by the Lords of Reischach of the same name and around the middle of the same time it largely comes to the Wald monastery . With the transition of the umbrella bailiwick of the Wald von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen monastery to Austria in 1783, the place left the county of Sigmaringen. In 1806 the village, like the entire forest territory, fell to the Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen through the secularization of the monastery due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss and in 1850 to Prussia as the Hohenzollern country . From 1806 Reischach belonged to the princely and from 1850 to 1862 to the Prussian Oberamt Wald , since then to the Oberamt and since 1925 the district of Sigmaringen .

The von Reischach family as local nobility is mentioned from the 12th to the 21st century, but has not been resident there since the transition to the Wald monastery.

On June 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Reischach was incorporated into the municipality of Wald.

coat of arms

In a split shield in front in black a double row of red and silver butted sloping bar, behind in silver a gold armored red-tongued black boar's head with a gold collar.

The Cistercian bar is reminiscent of the Wald monastery, which had owned the place since the 13th century. The black boar head is the coat of arms of the von Reischach family, known since the 12th century. This local nobility was the predecessor of the Wald monastery in Reischach.

The coat of arms was proposed by the Sigmaringen State Archives in 1947. It was awarded on December 16, 1947 by the Württemberg-Hohenzollern Ministry of the Interior (No. IV 3012 B / 13 No. 1).
