Sentenhart is a suburb of the municipality of Wald in the district of Sigmaringen in Baden-Württemberg , Germany .

Geographical location

The village of Sentenhart is about eight kilometers south of Meßkirch . Two brooks flow in the Sentenhart district, the Auenbach flowing through the village and the Lindenbach flowing eastwards.

history

Sentenhart was first mentioned in a deed of donation from Count Eberhard von Nellenburg in 1056 when he ceded the village to the Reichenau monastery . Reichenau again sold the village in 1463 to the Counts of Werdenberg , who bequeathed it to the Fürstenberg dynasty in 1570 . Since then the village has belonged to the imperial county of Heiligenberg . In 1806 Sentenhart came with this to Baden . In the course of the community reform, the formerly Baden Sentenhart came on January 1, 1973 to the community of Wald, which was otherwise formed from former Hohenzollern villages. Until then, Sentenhart belonged to the Stockach district .

Sentenhart was on the western part of the disused Altshausen – Schwackenreute railway line , which was opened by the Baden State Railways on August 11, 1873, and had its own train station.
