Rekha Shanti Sharma (* in Vancouver ) is a Canadian actress best known for her roles in Battlestar Galactica and The 100 .

Sharma was born and raised in Vancouver. Their ancestors came from Uttar Pradesh in India and immigrated to Fiji during the British reign . From there, her parents moved to Canada before she was born. She has an older brother named Sunil.

In her early twenties Sharma played professional theater for the first time and then decided to give up her main job and only work as an actress. In 2001 she played her first small roles in Outer Limits - The Unknown Dimension and The Lonely Shooters . She had recurring roles in 2002 and 2003 in the series Dark Angel and Der Fall John Doe! . Since then she has repeatedly appeared in larger roles in science fiction series. Some of the best known include Smallville , Battlestar Galactica , V - The Visitors, and The 100 . For the cinema she shot, among other things, The Core - The Inner Core, Whisper, and the 2016 mockumentary No Men Beyond This Point . End of April 2017 it was announced that she in the new Star Trek series Star Trek: Discovery , the security chief of the Discovery plays.

In 2010 Rekha Sharma was nominated for a Leo Award for her role in the short film Collide .

In her free time she paints, practices yoga and plays sarangi .
