René Krause

René Krause (born August 30, 1985 ) is a German boxer .

Career

Krause started boxing in his youth. At that time he belonged to the sports club SC Colonia Köln . He achieved success in adolescence and junior age and was German champion several times in these age groups. He achieved the greatest success in the youth field at the U17 World Championship (cadets) in 2002 in Kecskemét . In the light heavyweight division he came there behind Denis Bojkow from Russia on the 2nd place and was runner-up world champion .

At the Junior World Championships 2004 in Jeju / South Korea , Rene Krause won the light heavyweight division over Ahror Muralimow from Uzbekistan on points (17: 7), but lost in the round of 16 against Server Emuraljew from Ukraine on points (13:20) and thus reached 9th place . Space.

At the German championship in 2005 he started for the first time in the seniors. He reached the semifinals there, in which he was defeated on points against Robert Woge from Halle (Saale) . He came in 3rd place. Rene Krause suffered a serious setback at the 2006 German Championship, because he was severely knocked out by Huseyin Cinkaya from BC Olympia Rhein-Neckar in the first round.

After this defeat he needed time to catch up with his previous performances. He moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where Jörg Heidenriech became his coach.

The first successes came in 2007 at international tournaments. So he finished in the Coup de Nations in Calais in the light heavyweight division after a victory over Mamdou Diambang from France and a point defeat against the Cuban top boxer Yusniel Napoles the 2nd place. At the Grand Prix tournament in Ústí nad Labem (Aussig) he won over the Hungarian Gabor Bodei, the Azerbaijani Javid Taghiew and the Brazilian Washington Silva and won the light heavyweight competition at this tournament.

He failed to qualify for the Beijing Olympics. In 2008 he finished in a tournament in Debrecen in the light heavyweight division after a point defeat (5-8) in the quarter-finals against the third of the World Cup Daugirdas Semiotas from Lithuania in 5th place. Then he won a tournament in Zagreb , defeating the strong Irish Darren O'Neill in the final. He then took part in a tournament in St. Quentin , where he lost in the semi-finals to the Algerian Abdelhafid Benchebla and came in 3rd place. At the chemical cup in Halle (Saale) he won over the Indian Parminder Singh by breaking off in the 3rd round and in the final against his old competitor Robert Woge on points. He also showed convincing performances at the 1st AIBA Presidents Cup in Taipei . He won there over the Russian Sergej Kowaljow (boxer) on points (14:10) and delivered a courageous fight in the final to world champion Abbas Atoyev from Uzbekistan before he lost just on points (6:11).

At the German championship in 2008 in Straubing, Robert Krause lost in the semifinals against Gottlieb Weiss from BAC Hockenheim on points (6:11). Since Weiss was injured afterwards, he was nominated for the European Championships taking place in Liverpool in November 2008 . There he won a bronze medal with victories over Callum Johnson from Scotland (4: 2) and Daugirdas Šemiotas (5: 1) and a point defeat (3: 8) in the semifinals against Sergej Karnejew from Belarus .

At the 2009 World Championships in Milan , Rene Krause came in light heavyweight with three wins and one defeat in the semifinals against Elshod Rasulow from Uzbekistan (2: 8) on a good 5th place.
