Elshod Yunusovich Rasulov (also Elschod Junusowitsch Rasulow , born March 7, 1986 in Kokand , Fergana Oblast , Uzbek SSR , USSR ) is an Uzbek amateur boxer .
Career
Elshod Rasulov won a bronze bantamweight medal at the 2001 Cadet World Championships and a featherweight silver medal at the 2002 Cadet World Championships. At the Junior World Championships in 2004 he won the welterweight gold medal by beating Emilio Correa in the final .
In 2006 he won the Asian Middleweight Games in Qatar by beating Olympic champion Baqtijar Artajew in the final and was also able to secure the middleweight victory at the 2007 Asian Championships in Mongolia . He defeated Vijender Kumar in the final fight . He started in 2007 at the World Championships in the USA , where he reached the round of 16 with a win against István Szili , where he was eliminated by Argenis Núñez .
In the Asian Olympic qualification in Thailand in 2008 , he reached the final and also beat the eventual Olympic champion Ryota Murata . This allowed him to take part in the 2008 Olympic Games in China . After victories against Jean-Mickaël Raymond and Andranik Hakobjan , he was defeated in the quarterfinals against Emilio Correa . At the 2008 World Cup in Russia he was eliminated against Andranik Hakobjan in the semi-finals and won bronze in the middleweight division.
In 2009 he won gold in the light heavyweight division at the Asian Championships in China, where he could beat Dinesh Kumar , among others . He then took part in the 2009 World Championships in Italy and won the final against René Krause and Vijender Kumar, among others , where he lost to Artur Beterbijew and won the silver medal in the light heavyweight division.
In 2010 he won the light heavyweight division at the Asian Games in China. Among his defeated opponents were Ehsan Rouzbahani and again Dinesh Kumar. At the 2011 World Championships in Azerbaijan , he again defeated Ehsan Rouzbahani and defeated Yamaguchi Falcão , among others , before losing to Ädilbek Nijasymbetow in the semifinals and was eliminated with a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division. With this placement he qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in England . There he defeated Yahya Mekacheri in the second round , but was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Yegor Mechonzew .
At the Summer Universiade 2013 in Russia he won a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division after a semi-final defeat by Dmitri Biwol . At the 2015 Asian Championships in Thailand, he won the silver medal in the light heavyweight division when he got out of the final without a fight against Ädilbek Nijasymbetow. He ended the 2015 World Championships in Qatar by winning another bronze light heavyweight medal after losing to Joe Ward in the semifinals . He had previously defeated Albert Ramírez and Aedilbek Nijasymbetow, among others .
In 2016 he won the Asian Olympic qualification in China with a final victory against Ädilbek Nijasymbetow and then started at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil . There he lost to Joshua Buatsi in the round of 16 .
