Renate Wolf (born July 13, 1957 in Hamm ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player . Your playing position was in the attack on the circle .

Career

Renate Wolf began her active career in 1975 at Bayer 04 Leverkusen . She then moved to Borussia Dortmund for a year and then returned to Leverkusen. With this team she was eight times German champion and six times DHB cup winner . In 1990, Wolf went to league rivals TV Lützellinden , where she won the championship and cup double in 1990 . She later switched to TuS Walle Bremen . In 1999 she had a brief comeback when she played for Hamburg regional division Wandsbek 72 at the age of 42 .

Wolf played 96 international matches for the national team .

Renate Wolf coached Bayer 04 Leverkusen from 1996 to 2012. After she was only the managing director of this team, she took over the coaching position again in August 2014 after the surprising separation from coach Khalid Khan , who was newly signed up at the beginning of the season . After the 2017/18 season, Wolf ended her coaching work to concentrate on the position of managing director. After coach Robert Nijdam left Bayer Leverkusen in December 2019, she took over as coach together with Michael Biegler and Andreas Thiel .

The qualified sports teacher is partnered with the handball referee Jutta Ehrmann-Wolf .

Wolf has been an ambassador for the “Handball helps” campaign since 2012. Through charity campaigns by “Handball helps”, athletes from handball associations, with the support of their partners, regularly collect money to support the German Cancer Aid.
