Reno Achenbach

Reno Achenbach (born August 6, 1961 in Freiberg ; † November 26, 2010 in South Tyrol , Italy ) was a German football player who was briefly active for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt in the GDR major league .

career

Reno Achenbach began his career in the youth division of the Karl-Marx-Städter district league team Motor Brand-Langenau . Achenbach then moved to Motor Fritz Heckert Karl-Marx-Stadt in the second-rate GDR league . In 1977 he was part of the squad of the GDR junior national team , for which he played two international matches.

Shortly before the end of the 1981/82 season , Achenbach was delegated by Motor Fritz Heckert, after he had previously played 20 GDR league games there and scored six goals, to the upper division FC Karl-Marx-Stadt . His league debut gave Achenbach in the 1981/82 season 0 draw against: 23 Matchday 0 Wismut Aue in which the midfielder after 83 minutes of coach Manfred Lienemann for Frank Eitemüller has been replaced, his last application was made on November 5, 1983 in a 2-2 draw against forward Frankfurt . In his eight league appearances, Achenbach was called up as a midfielder or defender. In the 1983/84 season he was only used as a substitute. In November 1983 he was drafted for military service.

After his release in May 1985, Achenbach returned to Motor Fritz Heckert Karl-Marx-Stadt. Motor FH now played in the third-rate district league and only rose again in the GDR league in 1988. In the 1988/89 and 1989/90 seasons, Achenbach played 50 of the 68 GDR league games played for Motor FH and scored seven goals. When BSG Motor was converted into VfB Fortuna Chemnitz in the summer of 1990, Achenbach was taken over again and used in the NOFV League in 28 of the 30 point games in which he scored two goals in the 1990/91 season .

After the East German football leagues were taken over by the DFB , VfB Fortuna only played third-class and Achenbach did not return to higher-class football. Until the mid-1990s, he was still active at BSC Freiberg and SSV 91 Brand-Erbisdorf. In his hometown Freiberg he worked as a car salesman, a few years before his death he moved with his family to South Tyrol , where he died of cancer on November 26, 2010 at the age of 49 .
