It extends southwest of Reichenhausen , a district of the municipality of Erbenhausen . The state road L 1123 runs along the northeastern edge of the area and the B 285 to the east . The Streu , a right-hand tributary of the Franconian Saale , has its source in the area . The state border with Bavaria runs along the southern and southeastern edge of the area .
