Rhythm of Love is the third studio album by Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue . It was released in November 1990.

history

The album was the first to contain songs co-written by Minogue. It was produced by Stock Aitken Waterman (tracks 1-5, 7 and 9), Keith Cohen (8, 10 and 11), Stephen Bray (10 and 11) and Michael Jay (6). With the album, Minogue's image increasingly changed from bubblegum pop to a more contemporary dance pop sound. Overall, more emphasis was placed on the production of a stronger album than just on strong singles. At that time, Minogue was friends with INXS singer Michael Hutchence , who influenced Minogue's transformation.

Success and criticism

Allmusic's Chris True called the record Minogues "the best release of the Stock Aitken Waterman era". The songwriting is stronger, the production more dynamic than with the predecessors. The rating was three out of five stars. The Digital Spy site awarded four out of five stars. The album reached number 9 and gold status in the UK and number 10 in their native Australia .
