Singles

I believe in you

As the first of two new songs on Ultimate Kylie , I Believe in You was released as a single on December 6, 2004 . Minogue recorded the piece with Jake Shears and Babydaddy from the Scissor Sisters . Vernie Yeung directed the accompanying video . BPM was published as the B-side , a piece that was created during the recording of Body Language . I Believe in You developed into a Europe-wide hit for Mingoue, which made it to number 2 in the British charts. However, the song would be without the Christmas anthem Do They Know It's Christmas? from Band Aid 20 has been a sure number 1 for the singer in the UK. In the UK radio charts, however, the song stayed at number 1 for six weeks. In the German single charts, I Believe in You was unable to make it to the top of the charts due to a sales boycott by Metro AG . The company's music stores boycotted the sale of the single due to the fact that I Believe in You was already released for legal download before the regular release date .

Giving you up

The second single Giving You Up , produced by Brian Higgins (Xenomania), was released on March 28, 2005. With Made of Glass, also produced by Xenomania, it contained a B-side, which appeared unofficially on the Internet in December 2004 and in file sharing networks was spread. The video for Giving You Up comes from the French directors Martin Fougerole and Alexandre Courtes , who work under the name Alex & Martin and who have already shot videos from U2 and the White Stripes .
