Ri Kŭn-mo (born April 5, 1926 in the province of P'yŏngan-namdo , † 2001 ) was a North Korean politician.

Ri Kŭn-mo studied at Kim-Il-sung University in Pyongyang and at the Institute of Engineering in Leningrad ( Soviet Union ). From 1958 he worked for the Central Committee of the Labor Party of Korea (PdAK). In 1964 he became head of the department for mechanical engineering at the Central Committee and in 1968 Minister for the mechanical engineering industry. In 1969 he moved to the Central Committee for Heavy Industry. In the early 1980s he held a number of high offices in the party and government. Among other things, he was Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers. From 1986 to 1988 he was Chairman of the Council of Ministers (Prime Minister) of North Korea. Due to the poor economic development of the country in the late 1980s, he had to give up this post and became First Secretary of the Labor Party of Korea in Hamgyŏng-pukto Province in the north-east of the country. From 1998 to 2003 he was a member of the Supreme People's Assembly .

Ri Kŭn-mo was considered an economist. While he held leading positions in the country in the 1980s, he was no longer considered part of the innermost center of power around President Kim Jong-il .
