Ribera Baja del Ebro
Ribera Baja del Ebro ( Aragonese Ribera Baxa de l'Ebro , German Lower Ebro Bank ) is a comarca ( administrative unit ) in the Spanish autonomous region of Aragon . It is located in the province of Saragossa and has 9,418 inhabitants on an area of 989.9 km². The main town of the comarca is Quinto . The name of the comarca is derived from the fact that it is located east of Saragossa on the lower course of the Ebro as seen from there .
The comarca borders in the north on the Monegros , in the west on the comarca Saragossa , in the south on Campo de Belchite and Bajo Martín and in the east on the comarca Bajo Aragón-Caspe . In addition to Quinto, Ribera Baja del Ebro includes the municipalities of Alborge , Alforque , Cinco Olivas , Escatrón , Gelsa , Pina de Ebro , Quinto, Sástago , Velilla de Ebro and La Zaida .
The Comarca's cultural heritage includes the Monasterio de Rueda , a Cistercian monastery in the municipality of Sástago, as well as the remains of the Roman colony in Celsa near Velilla de Ebro, originally called Colonia Victrix Iulia Lepida .
