Valdejalón , also Jalón Medio ( Aragonese Baldexalón or Xalón Meyo ), is a comarca ( administrative unit ) of the autonomous region of Aragon in Spain . The comarca is located in the west of the province of Saragossa and has an area of ​​933.3 km² 29,429 inhabitants, which corresponds to a density of 31.53 inhabitants per square kilometer. The seat of the district is La Almunia de Doña Godina , the largest city among the 17 belonging municipalities. The name is derived from the fact that the comarca is largely located in the valley or on the middle reaches of the Jalón , a tributary of the Ebro .

The comarca borders in the north on Ribera Alta del Ebro and Campo de Borja , in the west on the Comarca Aranda , in the south on the Comunidad de Calatayud , in the southeast on the Campo de Cariñena and in the east on the Comarca Saragossa .

The economy is based primarily on the processing of agricultural products in La Almunia and on suppliers based in Épila for the Opel plant in Figueruelas (Comarca Ribera Alta del Ebro). In the traditionally dominant agriculture, grain cultivation and viticulture stand out in the valley of the Jalón.
