Richard Frodl

Richard Frodl (born November 5, 1921 in Thomigsdorf / Sudetenland , † September 21, 2002 ) was a German officer, most recently lieutenant general in the Bundeswehr . From 1977 to 1982 he was head of the Air Force Office .

biography

Frodl served in the air force of the Wehrmacht , including in combat squadron 30 .

He later joined the German Air Force. He was from October 1, 1963 to March 31, 1969 in the rank of Colonel First Commodore of Missile Squadron  1 in Landsberg am Lech . From October 1, 1970 to September 30, 1972, he was in the rank of Brigadier General in command of the Air Force Technical Academy in Neubiberg , which was subordinate to the Air Force Training Command and was renamed the Air Force Technical College during his time in command , after it received state recognition on March 24, 1971 as a private technical school with the training facilities technology (specializing in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering) and economics from the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture . Awards

Frodl was the bearer of the German Cross in Gold. For his services to the Bundeswehr he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Bavarian Order of Merit. He also received the symbol of friendship from the Catholic Academy in Bavaria in 1996 .
