Günter Raulf

Günter Raulf (born April 10, 1928 in Braunschweig , † October 27, 2015 in Bornheim ) was a German Air Force officer and lieutenant general  ret. D. He was one of the first generals in the Bundeswehr who did not serve as a soldier during World War II . From 1982 to 1984 he was head of the Air Force Office .

Life

That as the war experiences Raulf FlaK had collected helper, the university acquired after the war at the University of Labor, politics and business in Wilhelmshaven and studied economics in Goettingen . On January 2, 1956, he joined the German Armed Forces in the Krahnenberg barracks and was a participant in the first ensign course at the anti- aircraft troop school (later the Army Air Defense School ) in the Feldwebel-Schmid barracks in Rendsburg .

As an officer, after attending the Luftwaffe missile school, he was, among other things, Karl-Wilhelm Berkhans' advisor for military affairs in the management staff of the Federal Ministry and then provisional chief of the management staff under Georg Leber , from April 1, 1974 head of the "Usage courses" department the command academy of the Bundeswehr . In 1976 he was first transferred to the staff of the NATO headquarters AFCENT - Raulf was from April 1, 1982 to September 30, 1984 head of the Air Force Office in the Cologne Air Force Barracks Wahn . Raulf, who was a member of the SPD and was considered a pupil of Helmut Schmidt , came under fire from the CDU in the mid-1970s because he was said to have had contacts with the Socialist Reich Party . In 2005 he advocated keeping the nickname "Mölders" of the Jagdgeschwader 74 because he felt the renaming was unjustified.

His marriage to his wife Anneliese resulted in two sons.
