Richard von Schaewen (born June 28, 1869 in Gr. Carpowen , Darkehmen district ; † November 27, 1952 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German administrative lawyer and ministerial official.

Life

Von Schaewen attended the Royal Wilhelms-Gymnasium (Königsberg) . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the Albertus University of Königsberg from the summer semester of 1887 . Like his older brothers Willy and Albert von Schaewen, Richard von Schaewen became a member of the Corps Masovia . As Subsenior , Consenior and senior , he was an exemplary Chargierter . In 1896 he began as an assessor at the Prussian State Railways . In 1900 he became an unskilled worker in the Prussian Ministry of Public Works . From 1903 government councilor , he was with the Royal Railway Directorate (KED) Erfurt until 1908 . In 1908 he returned to the ministry as a lecturer council. In 1917, during the First World War , he became President of KED Cologne . In 1919 he went as general manager of Phoenix AG of Mining and Metallurgy operating in the industry . In the Weimar Republic he was director and board member of Deutsche Verkehrs-Kredit-Bank from 1924 to 1934 . For decades he was a member of Masovia's trust commission. In Berlin he looked after the last 80 Corps brothers until 1938. With Paul Treibe and Alfred Prang , he stood for the many railway workers in the corps.
