Alfred Emil Arthur Prang (born September 25, 1887 in Marggrabowa , † April 9, 1967 in Munich ) was a German ministerial official in the transport sector .

Life

As the son of a brewery and distillery owner in Masuria , Prang attended the Herzog-Albrechts-Schule (Rastenburg) . In the summer semester of 1908 he began to study law , economics and political science at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In the same semester he became active in the Corps Masovia . When he was inactive , he moved to the Friedrichs University in Halle in 1910 . The state examination he was in 1912 at the Naumburg Court . He took part in the First World War as an artillery officer.

Since 1920 court assessor , he came to the Reichsfinanzverwaltung in 1921 and changed to the railroad service , being appointed to the government council . From 1922 to 1924 he was a department head at the Reichsbahndirektion Königsberg , from 1924 head of the Gera Railway Traffic Office. From 1926 he worked in the head office of the Deutsche Reichsbahngesellschaft . As a Nazi party member, he represented after the takeover of the Nazis in the public's Chief Financial board member Ludwig Homberger , who was of Jewish descent. After his release in 1935, Prang was his successor in 1935. In 1937 he moved to the Reich Ministry of Transport as a ministerial director , but remained in his post with the Reichsbahn and the Reichsautobahnen.

Appointed to the Zone Advisory Council in the post-war period , he reorganized the railway system in the Bizone at the newly established Reichsbahn General Directorate . In 1948 he was a member of the Reichsbahn Expert Committee at the Bank deutscher Länder . On June 1, 1949, he was responsible for setting up the overall organization of the Deutsche Verkehrs-Kredit-Bank . Since February 16, 1952 its board member, he retired in 1960.

In 1950, the old gentlemen's association of the Corps Palaiomarchia des Band. Because of his great services in building the Corps Palaiomarchia Masovia in Kiel, he was elected honorary member in 1955.
