The bolt head is a 2920 m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks in the main Alpine ridge of the Granatspitz group in the north of East Tyrol and south-east of Salzburg .
location
The Riegelkopf is a peak in the northern central area of the Granatspitzgruppe. It is located on the Tauern main ridge on the border between Tyrol in the south-west and Salzburg in the north-east and on the border between the communities of Matrei in East Tyrol and Mittersill . The Riegelkopf lies between the Teufelspitze in the north and the Amertaler Höhe in the southeast, whereby the Riegelkopf is separated from the Amertaler Höhe by the Riegelkopfschartl ( 2670 m ) and the Donaubaumschartl. The southwest ridge of the Riegelkopf runs over the Dabersattel to the Upper and Lower Daberkögele . To the northeast is the Amertaler See .
Promotion opportunities
The normal route to the Riegelkopf runs from Dabersattel over the block ridge of the southwest ridge ( UIAA I ). Further climbing possibilities are the north ridge of the Riegelkopf, whereby one bypasses the Teufelsspitz from the Riegelurmscharte first to the south ( UIAA II ) and the southeast ridge starting from the Riegelkopfschartl ( UIAA II ). The greatest challenge is the up to 60 ° steep northeast channel ( UIAA III ).
