The Rimberg , also called Rimbergkopf , near Oberrarbach in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis is 713.1  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Rothaar Mountains .

location

The Rimberg rises in the northwest of the Rothaargebirge . Its summit is about 1.5 km southeast of Oberrarbach and 700 m west-northwest of the hamlet of Rimberg , both of which belong to the town of Schmallenberg . Most of the mountain, including the summit, lies in the Rarbach district , parts of the southern flank belong to the Fredeburg district . On the western edge of the springs Rarbach , on the north edge of the stick Hagen ( 710.5  m ), a northern Rimberg extension tip, the springs Rarbach inflow Gengenasiepen and on the east face of the billet Hagen the Brabecke influx Düsmecke .

Natural allocation

The Rimberg belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Süderbergland (No. 33), in the main unit Rothaargebirge (with Hochsauerland ) (333) and in the subunit Winterberger Hochland (333.5) to the natural area Hunau (333.55).

Surname

In topographical maps this mountain is referred to as Rimberg, the northern side knoll as Knüppelhagen. The location names in the cadastre are Rebbersche Berg and Schey . Rimberg is the location designation in the cadastre for an elevation about 1.1 km to the north-northeast on the state road  776. The cadastral designations are already documented in the original cadastre . In the new inclusion of the measuring table sheets from around 1900, both mountains are called Rim-B. , the side knoll called Knüppelhagen , later in the German basemap the north-eastern mountain called Kl. Rimberg .

Traffic and walking

South-east past the Rimberg leads between Bad Fredeburg through the hamlet of Rimberg to Gellinghausen on state road 776, part of which is designated as the Hochsauerland-Höhenstraße . From this road branches off a little southwest of the hamlet, the state road 914 leading to Oberhenneborn and from the latter west of the mountain, the district road  38, which runs past Oberrarbach . On the east-south-east slope of the Rimberg there is a ski lift with a slope .
