Rinnen is a village , a fraction and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Berwang in the Reutte district in the Austrian state of Tyrol .

geography

The place is in the Rotlech valley at an altitude of 1262  m above sea level. A. Neighboring towns are: Berwang , Anrauth , Brand , Forchach and Weißenbach am Lech .

history

The place is first mentioned in 1485. The first settlers of Bavarian and Swabian origin came over the Tarrenthon Alp and settled down. The Sebastian chapel at the entrance to the village, coming from Berwang, was built around 1640 according to the year in the altar.

After the end of the Second World War, the place developed into a vacation spot. The first guests lived in the old farmhouses, which were gradually converted into pensions. Today there are three hotel complexes in addition to the guest houses. In addition to tourism , some of the farmhouses that have been preserved in the village are still used for agriculture .

Worth seeing

The local chapel of St. Sebastian, the Ölberg Chapel, the Spitzeck Chapel and the wayside shrine Sebastiansstöckl. The Ausserferner Jakobsweg leads past the Sebastian Chapel (see also the list of listed objects in Berwang ). Several hiking trails lead to, from and over gullies.
