The Rittner-Horn-Haus ( Italian Rifugio Corno del Renon ) is a refuge in the Sarntal Alps in South Tyrol , Italy .
Location and surroundings
The hut is located on the summit of the Rittner Horn at an altitude of 2259 m and thus in the area of the Barbian community .
To the south of the Rittner Horn, the Ritten is an extensive high plateau. To the west you climb into the Sarntal , to the east you descend into the Eisack valley. Towards the northwest you reach the Sarner Scharte and the Villanderer Berg .
history
The Rittner Horn House was built by the Bozen section of the Austrian Tourist Club . The opening took place in 1894. After the First World War , the hut was expropriated by the Italian state and given to the CAI section in Bolzano. Today the house is in a winter sports area.
