Robert Friedrich
Robert Friedrich (born November 29, 1901 in Wachbach , Württemberg ; † May 23, 1986 in Bad Mergentheim ) was a German politician and member of the NSDAP . Shortly before the start of the Second World War, he was temporarily appointed Lord Mayor of the city of Wuppertal .
Friedrich was born on November 29, 1901 as the son of a farmer in Wachbach. He moved to Tübingen to study philosophy and political science , where he studied at the Eberhard-Karls-University . He finally continued it at various universities, one after the other at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , at the Karl Franzens University in Graz , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and finally at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg im Breisgau where he was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In the same year he started to work for a Hamburg import and export company. This activity, he finished in 1928 and made his name as owner of a feed and Holzgroßhandlung in Dusseldorf independently .
Friedrich joined the NSDAP in 1931 . From 1933 to 1938 he was a city councilor in Düsseldorf and from 1933 to 1945 he was also Gauamtsleiter für Volkswohlfahrt in Gau Düsseldorf . From January 21, 1938, he was temporarily appointed Lord Mayor of the city of Wuppertal. He held the office until May 7, 1940. He died on May 23, 1986 in Bad Mergentheim.
