Robert Grosvenor (* 1937 in New York ) is an American sculptor .

life and work

Robert Grosvenor was born in New York in 1937 and studied at the University of Perugia , Perugia in Italy and the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs , Paris , where he graduated in 1959.

He is known for his monumental room installations that stand on the border between sculpture and architecture . Grosvenor is linked to the Minimalist movement and participated in the Primary Structures exhibition at the Jewish Museum in New York in 1966.

Grosvenor uses industrial materials such as car body parts , plexiglass , stone , brick , concrete , plastic .

Robert Grosvenor has been represented by Paula Cooper Gallery , New York City, NY since 1970 .
